School Choice application deadline approaching
Beaufort County parents have one week remaining to submit applications to have their children attend academic programs in schools outside their zoned attendance areas.
The School Choice deadline is March 1. The district has received more than 800 applications to date.
To submit applications, parents may:
- Complete an online application on the School Choice Headquarters page of the district’s website by 5 p.m. March 1.
- Complete a hard-copy application, which can be downloaded and printed from the School Choice Headquarters site, or picked up from any district school. Applications must be postmarked no later than March 1 and addressed to Carolyn Bostick, Office of Student Services, Beaufort County School District, 2900 Mink Point Blvd., Beaufort, SC 29901.
- Hand-deliver a hard-copy application no later than 5 p.m. March 1, to the Beaufort County School District’s main offices at 2900 Mink Point Blvd., Beaufort.
The 2016-17 academic year will be the second for the district’s expanded choice initiative. In the program’s first year, the district approved more than 2,900 applications – 13 percent of the district’s total enrollment.
