Update: Okatie man who fled Burton wreck found hiding under home

Sheriff’s deputies arrested a man who left a wreck on foot after he was found hiding under a house in Burton.

According to the Beaufort County Sheriff’s Office, deputies approached a suspicious Chrysler 300 on Cherokee Farms Road off Joe Frazier Road in Burton around 6:15 a.m.

The car, occupied by a man and a woman, drove away but crashed near Morrall Drive. The woman was arrested at the location of the wreck, but the man left the scene on foot.

Deputies searched for him in the area with assistance from canines and the Sheriff’s Office helicopter. Around 9:45 a.m., the man, identified as Kyle Lord, 28, of Okatie, was found hiding under a house off Joe Frazier Road. He was arrested.

Charges are still being determined, the Sheriff’s Office said.
