Beaufort man named as victim of Wednesday’s 170 crash

A Beaufort man was identified Thursday as the victim of Wednesday’s single-vehicle crash on Robert Smalls Parkway.

Leon Edward Adams Jr., 44, died after the Honda Passport he was driving ran off the road and hit a tree around 12:20 p.m., according to S.C. Highway Patrol Sgt. Bob Beres and Beaufort County Coroner Ed Allen.

Adams was not wearing a seat belt at the time of the wreck.

The crash is under investigation.
