A University of South Carolina-Beaufort graduate is being held in jail on a $300,000 bond after he allegedly shared images of naked children.

According to a report from The Post and Courier, Andrew Lee Poff, 31, of Charleston, has been charged with three counts of second-degree sexual exploitation of a minor.

Poff allegedly used a file-sharing network in November to share three images of girls who appeared to be between the ages of 9 and 10 and in a “state of sexually explicit nudity,” the report said.

He turned himself in to police Monday morning and is being held at the Cannon Detention Center in Charleston County.

Poff’s attorney, Jim Brown of Beaufort, said that his client recently earned a bachelor’s degree in English from USCB and asked for a low bond because he is not a flight risk.

Charleston Police Detective Doug Galluccio said Poff is a danger to society and that more charges could follow once a laptop seized during a search warrant is examined, the report said.
