Port Royal residents the smartest in Beaufort County, website says

Port Royal residents are the smartest in Beaufort County and the fifth-smartest in South Carolina, according to a careers website ranking.

Zippia used a formula based on teenage high school dropout rates and percentage of adults older than 25 with a high school diploma taken from U.S. Census data, according to the website. The ranking includes municipalities with more than 5,000 people.

After Port Royal, Hilton Head Island ranked ninth. Bluffton was 14th and Beaufort came in at 27th.

Tegay Cay, in York County, topped the list.
