Local group seeks help for Liberian Ebola victims
A nonprofit group in Beaufort County is helping to collect supplies for people recovering from a deadly Ebola outbreak in Liberia.
The Pan-African Family Empowerment & Land Preservation Network is collaborating with the International Education Center at Savannah State University to help fill a container to be shipped to Liberia from Savannah, PAFEN president & CEO Theresa White said in news release.
Donations of personal-hygiene and baby-care items, school supplies, toys and socks will be accepted through Jan. 31 at the following sites:
- Salt Art Gallery and Framing, 802 Bay St., Beaufort
- Penn Center, 16 Penn Center Circle West, St. Helena Island.
- Campbell Chapel AME Church, 25 Boundary St., Bluffton.
- Ruby Lee's, 46 Old Wild Horse Road, Hilton Head Island.
- PAFEN office in the Professional Building, 2 Corpus Christi Place, Suite 200, Hilton Head Island.
