Docent-led tours of Fort Fremont to start on Saturday

Beginning Jan. 23, the Friends of Fort Fremont will begin offering docent-led tours of the fort the fourth Saturday of every month, according to a news release.

Saturday's tour will begin at 10:30 a.m. at the St. Helena Branch of the Beaufort County Public Library.

Participants will travel to the remains of the fort on Land's End Road, learn more about its history and will see a scale model of the fort as it stood in 1898.
