'Dancing with the Stars' star Karina Smirnoff teaches class at Bluffton dance studio
"Dancing with the Stars" star Karina Smirnoff taught a ballroom dance workshop on Thursday night at the Fred Astaire Dance Studio in Bluffton. The class was open to the public and had around fifty people of all ages and dance levels.
“I didn’t bring her down because she is a celebrity, but because of her dance knowledge,” Sandro Virag, owner of the studio, said. “She is such an amazing talent.”
Smirnoff, who in addition to being well known for being on the hit ABC television show has won a number of other world and national titles in competition dancing, has spent her time in Bluffton giving private lessons to several of the more advanced competition dancers who attend the studio and will continue with those on Friday before leaving on Saturday.
"We try to bring in professional dancers who are well known in the dance world every six months, but this has generated a lot more attention because she is a celebrity," Virag said.
