Beaufort County teachers renew advanced credentials
Five Beaufort County teachers have renewed their national board certifications.
That brings the Beaufort County School District's total to 135 national board certified teachers, about 8 percent of its teaching force.
The advanced credential from the non-profit board is considered by many the profession's mark of accomplished teaching.
The teachers with renewed certifications are:
- Ashley Berryhill of Hilton Head Island Early Childhood Center
- Michelle Dixon of Beaufort High
- Donna Haram-Deines of Riverview Charter
- Cynthia Laizer of Red Cedar Elementary
- Cynthia Strandt of Hilton Head Island School for the Creative Arts
- Heather Tamminen of Pritchardville Elementary
- Alma Weeks of Lady's Island Elementary
