Family altercation in Dale ends in a shower of pepper spray
A family argument led to two women being pepper sprayed Thursday on Porches Hill Road in Dale.
Deputies were called to a residence around 9:30 p.m. after a 911 hang up, according to the Beaufort County Sheriff's Office report.
When deputies arrived, one of the women in the front yard was attempting to wipe "mace" from of her face, the report said.
The woman told deputies her sister-in-law had pepper sprayed her when she went to confront her.
The sister-in-law allegedly had told the victim's son to leave her home shortly before the altercation, the report said.
The victim's sister said she was also sprayed when she accompanied her sister to the sister-in-law's home.
A witness told deputies it was "clear" the two pepper spray victims wanted to fight the sister-in-law at her home before she used pepper spray to defend herself, the release said.
Due to conflicting accounts of what happened and who was at fault, no charges were filed.
