Teen in Beaufort crash charged with suspicion of DUI

A teenage driver injured in a two-vehicle crash on Trask Parkway in northern Beaufort County early Dec. 23 has been charged with suspicion of driving under the influence.

The crash occurred around 5 a.m. when a Jeep Cherokee driven by the 18-year-old Yemassee man rolled multiple times. The Jeep was then struck by a Chevy Impala in the northbound lane driven by a Seabrook woman, according to Lance Cpl. Hannah Wimberly of the S.C. Highway Patrol.

Both drivers were taken to Beaufort Memorial Hospital, and their medical conditions are unknown.
