Seabrook man faces federal charges after traffic stop in Bluffton
A Seabrook man sought by the U.S. Marshals Service was arrested Monday in Bluffton on an outstanding warrant for charges of possession of a firearm during an armed robbery and federal probation violations.
The Bluffton Police Department's Neighborhood Services Unit stopped 28-year-old Terence Anthony Scott on Pin Oak Street because he had defective equipment on his vehicle, a news release said. After running Scott's name through a database, officers saw the federal warrants, the release said.
Scott has had previous encounters with law enforcement, including charges of assault on a police officer, armed robbery, resisting arrest and fleeing to evade arrest. He has also served a seven-year federal prison term, according to the release.
Scott was being held Tuesday in the Beaufort County Detention Center.
