Information sought on Sheldon cold case
The Beaufort County Sheriff's Office is seeking information on a 2006 cold case in northern Beaufort County.
Joseph Holmes, 68, was shot and killed by two unidentified suspects at the Sheldon Convenience Store on Trask Parkway just after 8 p.m. Dec. 20, 2006.
A witness said two people with masks entered the store and said it was a hold-up. The witness ran to the back of the store from the table he was sharing with Holmes and heard several shots fired before the suspects ran away.
Holmes was transported to Beaufort Memorial Hospital but died of a single gunshot wound.
No suspects have been identified in the case.
