Hunters find body in burned car in Yemassee

The Yemassee Police Department and the South Carolina Law Enforcement Division are investigating a scene off U.S. Highway 17 after hunters found a body inside a burned car on Friday morning.

The hunters found the vehicle around 9:30 a.m., according to a report from Savannah television station WSAV.

The Hampton County Coroner's Office has not identified the body, and investigators told the station it may take some time to do so due to the state it was recovered in.
