Hallelujah Singers to perform at the SC Statehouse
Lowcountry-based Hallelujah Singers will perform at the 49th Annual Governor's Carolighting in Columbia on Monday.
A longtime family tradition, the Carolighting will feature the lighting of the state Christmas tree.
This year's tree is a 35-foot concolor fir, also known as a white fir.
The tree was donated by Pinetum Christmas Tree Farm, a Swanton, Md.-based operation owned by Marshall and Cindy Stacy who also own a home in the Lowcountry.
The Hallelujah Singers have performed in a variety of venues and events across the country.
The Carolighting will take place on the north steps of the South Carolina Statehouse. Festivities kick off at 6 p.m. with light refreshments and an appearance by Santa Claus. The program will begin at 7 p.m. and, for those who cannot attend, SC ETV will broadcast the event live.
Also this year, those interested in helping residents affected by the floods are asked to make a donation to the One SC Fund.
All donations will go directly to assist South Carolinians.
To make a donation, call 803-254-5601 or visit www.onescfund.org.
