Community Foundation of the Lowcountry awards grants
The Community Foundation of the Lowcountry has given $1,000 grants to five randomly selected organizations that created profiles on the foundation's "Giving Marketplace" this summer, according to a news release.
First Books of Beaufort; Love for Therapeutic Riding of Beaufort; the Santa Elena Project Foundation of Beaufort; the Helping Hand Center of Pineland; and the Boys & Girls Club of Hilton Head Island received the grants, the release said.
The Giving Marketplace is the locally-branded version of DonorEdge, a program developed by GuideStar that functions as a source of information about local, national and international nonprofit organizations. Community Foundation of the Lowcountry is one of only 16 foundations across the country utilizing DonorEdge technology, the release said.
