St. Helena Island's Bryan still missing, search called off

The search for a 69-year-old St. Helena Island man who has been missing since Monday has ended as officials continue to ask residents to contact the Beaufort County Sheriff's Office if he is seen.

Charles Israel Bryan was last seen leaving his Reunion Road residence in his vehicle on Monday and has not contacted his family since, according to the Sheriff's Office news release.

His vehicle was found that same day abandoned with its hazard lights flashing on Tom Fripp Road.

Bryan is presumed to have walked away from his vehicle and may be in need of medical attention, the release said.

Capt. Bob Bromage said Friday the search has concluded and the department has no clues on where he may have gone.

Anyone with information on Bryan's whereabouts can call the Sheriff's Office Emergency Dispatch 911.
