Beaufort County firefighters accept letters to Santa

Special mailboxes at fire stations throughout the county will be a place for boys and girls of the Lowcountry to send a special message to the man in red, according to the Beaufort County Fire Chief's Association.

For the ease of collection and replies from Santa, the association asks that teachers and classrooms refrain from bulk mailing and instead encourage children and their families to drop letters off at their local fire station.

A press conference will be held Nov. 16 at the Burton Fire District's Habersham Station at 2 Market Street in Beaufort where Santa may make an appearance.
