St. Helena man, 69, missing and possibly endangered

A 69-year-old St. Helena Island man has been reported missing by his family after his vehicle was found stuck in mud, abandoned.

Charles Israel Bryan left his Reunion Road home Monday afternoon and did not return, family members reported to the Beaufort County Sheriff's Office. The truck was found stuck in mud on Tom Fripp Road on Monday night with its hazard lights on.

The Sheriff's Office has issued an alert for residents to be on the lookout for Bryan, who is presumed to be on foot and might be in need of medical assistance.

Anyone with information on his whereabouts is urged to call 911.
