Cold case: Reward offered in 2007 St. Helena Island shooting death of Lee Anderson

A reward of up to $2,500 is being offered by the Beaufort County Sheriff's Office for information about a 2007 St. Helena homicide.

Lee Anderson, 36, was found dead of multiple gunshot wounds in his driveway on Peanut Lane on Nov. 11, 2007, according to a Sheriff's Office news release issued Tuesday morning.

While Anderson spoke with his girlfriend that morning, friends could reach him early that afternoon, the release said. He was found dead later that day when friends went to check on him.

Investigators learned Anderson dealt marijuana and other narcotics, the release said.

Robbery could be the likely motive for his death, the release said.

Persons of interest were identified but no physical evidence liked them to the crime.

The evidence collected is still being evaluated to possibly establish links between suspects and the crime scene, the release said.
