"Today" show host Al Roker will make a very quick visit to Hilton Head Island on Wednesday as part of his attempt to break the Guinness World Record for Fastest Time to Report a Weather Forecast from All 50 U.S. States.
Roker is expected to broadcast from the 18th hole of the Harbour Town Golf Links around 3 p.m. Wednesday, according to a producer at the "Today" show. As soon as he's done, he'll be off to his next stop.
Anyone interested in watching the broadcast can do so from the Quarterdeck restaurant in Harbour Town, said Charlie Clark, spokeswoman for the Hilton Head Island-Bluffton Chamber of Commerce and Visitors and Convention Bureau, which helped coordinate the visit.
Roker began his journey Nov. 6 in Honolulu and plans to complete his trip Friday in New York City. As part of his nationwide tour, which he is calling "Rokerthon 2," he is also raising money for Feeding America.
This isn't the first time Roker has attempted to set a record with his weather forecasts.
Last year, in what was the first "Rokerthon," Roker broadcast the weather for 34 hours straight while raising money for the USO.
