Forum, resource fair set for Beaufort, Jasper county families of students with disabilities
The Beaufort County School District and several co-sponsors will host a community forum from 6 to 8 p.m. Nov. 12 to help students with disabilities and their parents learn more about services available during childhood and after high school.
About 25 local and state agencies will be on hand for the free "Resource Fair" at the Beaufort-Jasper Academy of Career Excellence, 80 Lowcountry Drive in Ridgeland (just off Highway 170 at its intersection with Highway 462). Refreshments and door prizes will be provided.
The November 12 event will be a collaborative effort among the school district, the South Carolina Department of Vocational Rehabilitation, Programs for Exceptional People and the Exceptional Family Member Program.
A translator will be available to assist Spanish-speaking parents.
