City of Beaufort public works crews were to begin hanging holiday decorations on street light poles Nov. 2, starting at Bay Street.

During the installation, parking spaces adjacent to each pole will be blocked off to allow crews to use equipment to lift and attach the decorations. Once the decorations are in place on a street light pole, the crews will open the affected spaces.

Bay Street, between Newcastle and Carteret streets, will be the first areas to be dressed for the winter holidays. Crews will expand the decorations throughout the downtown area in coming days.
