Minor bus accident reported in Burton

Two students have asked for medical exams following a minor bus accident in Burton this morning, according to the Beaufort County School District.

A bus transporting 28 students to Battery Creek High School was rear-ended about 6:45 a.m. while making a stop on Broad River Boulevard, district spokesman Jim Foster said. While damage to the car appeared to be substantial, the bus sustained only a dislodged tailpipe, Foster said.

The students were picked up by a different bus and transported to school about 5 to 10 minutes late.
