Visitation Wednesday for friends of fallen Burton firefighter Stuart Hardy

Stuart Hardy served 10 years in the US Marine Corps as a diesel and hydraulic mechanic and served two tours in Iraq. Hardy was hired by the Burton Fire District in May of 2014. Visitation for friends of Stuart Hardy will be from 5 to 8 p.m. Wednesday at Copeland Funeral Service in Beaufort.

Hardy, a Burton firefighter, died Sept. 24, more than a week after suffering extensive brain injury following a medical event while on a call.

The funeral will be held 11 a.m. Thursday at Praise Assembly of God in Port Royal. Hardy, who served in the US Marine Corps, will be buried with military and fire department honors in Beaufort National Cemetery.
