Video games, equipment worth nearly $4,000 stolen
A thief recently made off with thousands of dollars worth of video games and gaming equipment from a Shell Point home, a Beaufort County Sheriff's Office report said.
Last Thursday the the Sheriff's Office responded to a breaking and entering call at a home on Peacock Run.
The victim reported the theft of 57 Xbox One and Xbox 360 games, as well as a television and various pieces of gaming equipment, according to the incident report. The value of the stolen property was estimated at $3,940.
Aside from the games and equipment, nothing was stolen or disturbed, the report said.
The report, which was heavily redacted and does not include information about potential suspects, said the victim returned home from work to find the front door deadbolt unlocked, despite the fact that he routinely locked the door when he left the home.
The report said deputies determined the home's rear sliding door could be opened even when locked by pulling with force.
The investigation is ongoing.
