Wayback Burgers to open in Beaufort in 2016

Wayback Burgers, which opened a location this summer at Shelter Cove Towne Centre on Hilton Head Island, is set to open in Beaufort Town Center at 2005 Boundary St. The 1,600-square-foot restaurant is slated to open in early 2016, according to a news release.

David McElhaney will be the franchisee at the Beaufort restaurant. The new location is expected to employ 20 people.

Wayback Burgers, based in Chesire, Conn., offers burgers cooked to order and hand-dipped milkshakes. Its menu also includes chicken sandwiches, veggie burgers, turkey burgers, salads and sides.

The Beaufort restaurant will be the fifth Wayback Burgers location in South Carolina.
