5 injured in rollover crash Saturday night by Broad River Bridge
Five people were injured -- one had to be airlifted from the scene -- in a two-vehicle crash Saturday night near the foot of the Broad River Bridge.
The crash occurred about 8:30 p.m. at the intersection of Robert Smalls Parkway and Savannah Highway, according to the Burton Fire District.

The driver was transported via helicopter for treatment of what appeared to be extensive injuries, he said. The three passengers, as well as the driver who was the sole occupant of the other vehicle, were transported via ambulance for lesser injuries.
Their conditions were unknown Sunday.
Port Royal Police Department is investigating the crash.
Burton Fire District, Beaufort County EMS, Highway Patrol and the Beaufort County Sheriff's Office assisted in responding to the crash.
