Arrest made in Waterford Cove shooting

A Lady's Island man has been arrested after a shooting Saturday in the parking lot of Waterford Cove apartments that left two people injured, according to the Beaufort County Sheriff's Office.

Terrance Morgan, 21, was charged with two counts of attempted murder and one count of possession of a firearm during the commission of a violent crime.

At about 1 a.m., deputies called to the apartments found Julia Miller, 20, who had been grazed by a shot to the leg, and friend Andrew Head, 20, who had been grazed on the forehead, according to a news release.

Miller said she had heard gunshots outside. Miller went outside and saw her neighbor, Morgan, carrying a pistol. Morgan started arguing with her and punched her in the face. Miller tackled Morgan, the release said. Head returned and intervened. Morgan pointed the gun at Head, and Miller jumped on Morgan, deflecting a shot that grazed Head.

Morgan then fired a shot that grazed Miller's leg, according to authorities. Morgan drove off. Both victims were treated at Beaufort Memorial Hospital and released.

Deputies found Morgan later that morning at his apartment, the release said.
