Check your numbers! Winning Powerball ticket worth $50,000 sold in Beaufort

One lucky Lowcountry Powerball player is holding a $50,000 winning ticket that was sold at a Beaufort convenience store over the weekend.

The S.C. Education Lottery announced on Jan. 19 that the ticket was purchased at the Nouria 101 convenience store, located at 101 Midtown Drive in Beaufort for Saturday night’s drawing, held on Jan. 17.

The numbers drawn were 5-8-27-49-57, with a Powerball number of 14.

The odds of matching four white ball numbers and the red Powerball are 1 in 913,129, according to the lottery.

Players have 180 days from the date of the drawing to claim their prizes. More information on claiming winnings can be found at sceducationlottery.com.

Another winning Powerball ticket from Saturday’s drawing worth $2 million was sold in Moncks Corner at Parker’s Kitchen located at 115 South Highway 52.

Back in the spring, another winning ticket was sold on Hilton Head Island. The $20,000 Mega Millions ticket sold on Tuesday, May 13, 2025 at Kroger on 42 Shelter Cove Lane.

How to claim lottery winnings in SC

To claim your prize, follow these steps:

  • Sign your ticket in the space provided on the back
  • Once signed, you can redeem your ticket at any lottery retailer
  • Prizes can be awarded in cash, money order or check
  • Winnings over $500 can be claimed by mail or by visiting the Columbia Claims Center
