Port Royal’s waterfront is about to get a much needed facelift. That major waterfront project — in addition to improvements that are planned for Paris Avenue — will be discussed Wednesday at Town Hall.

An open house on improvements to Paris Avenue, the town’s main downtown street, is scheduled from 4-6:30 p.m. in the Town Hall conference room. Four Waters Engineering has been authorized to conceptually design Paris Avenue streetscape improvements from Ribaut Road to 7th Street, according to the town.

The upgrades will include the removal of the center medians, improvements to on-street parking, larger sidewalks, improved street lighting and landscaping, modern signs, improved stormwater collection and relocating the power underground.

A second topic of public interest will be addressed during the 6:30 P.M. Town Council meeting Wednesday. Safe Harbor Marinas will provide an update to the Town Council regarding its redevelopment plans for the Port of Port Royal. Those plans include construction of a marina.
