‘I’m hoping we find him safe.’ Search on for Dale resident who left home on foot Thursday

An 81-year-old man is missing in the Dale area north of Beaufort.

Joe Nathan Glover was reported missing from his Spann Circle residence Thursday, said Major Angela Viens, a spokesperson for the Beaufort County Sheriff’s Office.

The Sheriff’s Office bloodhound tracking team and aviation support unit searched for Glover Thursday night.

The search is resuming Friday morning, Viens told The Beaufort Gazette and Island Packet.

“There is a team of deputies and a organized group of search and rescue people made up of firemen and emergency services personnel,” Viens said. “They will be doing ground searches in the area today.”

Searches will be conducted in the Spann Circle and Lightsey Road.

Glover, Viens said, apparently has dementia and left home on foot.

“I’m hoping we find him safe,” Viens said.

Anyone with information on Glover’s whereabouts or who may have seen him since Thursday afternoon is encouraged to call Beaufort County Dispatch at 843-524-2777.

Glover is 6 feet tall and weighs 150 pounds. He has gray hair and a white beard.
