Nine vehicles in the same Seabrook neighborhood were rummaged through — four had items missing — in break-ins discovered on Sunday, according to five Beaufort County Sheriff’s Office reports.

The vehicles in the Seabrook Point area were all unlocked, according to the separate reports made to the Sheriff’s Office. Approximately $35 in change and a smart phone were reportedly stolen from four of the vehicles. The five other vehicles had papers, sunglasses and other items pulled out of different pockets and compartments, but nothing was stolen.

One vehicle was on Seabrook Point Drive; three were on Stagecoach Road; and five were on Stuart Street, according to the reports. One victim told deputies she purposely left her car unlocked so a thief would not break her windows.

The break-ins are still under investigation to determine whether they were related, Capt. Bob Bromage of the Sheriff’s Office said Monday.
