Beaufort Police are setting up a safety checkpoint next week. Here’s where and when

If you’re going to be driving through Beaufort on Tuesday, Jan. 30 you might want to make sure that your seat belt is buckled, your driver’s license is valid and your registration is up to date.

The Beaufort Police Department will be conducting a safety checkpoint looking for those specific issues from 9 to 9:30 a.m. Tuesday at the intersection of Bladen and Duke streets, according to a press release.

The checkpoint will help the department to fulfill the requirements of the Highway Safety Grant, the release said.

The release advises that you exercise caution if driving in the area, and that you be aware of stopped traffic and the presence of officers.
