A 23-year-old Burton man faces charges in connection with a December robbery in which he is accused of beating another man and stealing his money, according to a Beaufort County Sheriff’s Office report.

Jayron Sneed is charged with strong armed robbery, according to Beaufort County Detention Center records. Bond on that charge was not listed. He also faced a probation and parole violation, for which bond was set at $5,000.

Sneed allegedly attacked another Burton man and took $150 from his pocket around 7 p.m. on Dec. 22, 2017, according to the report. The victim was on Possum Hill Road bringing some DVDs to a friend when he ran into Sneed, an acquaintance. The victim told deputies he owed Sneed $30, but gave him $50 and told him to “keep the change” and “Merry Christmas.”

A short time later, when the victim was getting ready to leave, he was “immediately grabbed, punched in the face, kneed in the face and then kicked while on the ground,” allegedly by Sneed, according to the report. The victim was left with “a small break in the bone of the inside corner of his right eye.”

Sneed was arrested during a Sheriff’s Office traffic stop on Saturday on Castle Rock Road in Burton, according to the report.
