Four one-gallon jars of change were reported stolen Wednesday from a Burton home just a few doors down from another home that recently hit by the same type of theft, according to a Beaufort County Sheriff’s Office report.

A Chesterfield Lake Drive resident reported the jars holding an estimated $3,000 in coins stolen, according to the report. The victim told deputies he last remembered seeing them two weeks earlier. There were no signs that anyone had broken into the house.

Another Chesterfield Lake Drive home was broken into early Thursday morning while the victims slept inside and a jug of coins and about $200 in cash were stolen from the house.
