For the third time in about a week, a Dale man had to call Beaufort County Sheriff’s Office about a break-in at his home, according to a Sheriff’s Office report.

The Middlefield Circle resident rushed home from work when his home alarm system sent him an alert Wednesday afternoon and heard someone running through the woods near his house, according to the report. There were some pry marks on the front door and approximately $50 worth of damage to the frame this time, but the door was still locked and he told deputies he didn’t think anyone got in.

Some “internet wires” inside the “internet box” outside of his home had been cut and deputies took DNA samples from the damaged box and wires, according to the report.

Late at night on Dec. 13, the same man reported two separate break-ins; one at his home and one into his vehicle, according to other Sheriff’s Office reports.

The first was believed to have happened between about 7 p.m. and 11:45 p.m. Wednesday.

The second was believed to have happened between about 6 p.m. and 9 p.m. on Tuesday but was discoved shortly after the first break-in. Four guns, a scope and about $200 were stolen in that incident.
