A St. Helena couple came to check on their 2nd home, found some pricey items missing
Gold, china and crystal items were reported stolen from a St. Helena Island home on Friday after the homeowners returned from out of town, according to a Beaufort County Sheriff’s Office report.
Two gold rings, a Limoges dish set and a set of crystal champagne flutes were stolen from the home on a small road off State Road S-7-161 some time between July 31 and Friday, according to the report. They were worth an estimated $3,000 all together.
The couple has been living primarily out of state and visiting the island home, they told deputies. Two people had access to the home while the homeowners were away; the individuals they hired to keep the home clean in their absence, according to the report.
