Dale man comes home to find a window shattered, his guns and change gone
A Dale man came home Wednesday night to find a front bedroom window shattered and his firearms missing, according to a Beaufort County Sheriff’s Office report.
The theft from the Middlefield Circle property reportedly occurred between about 7 p.m. and 11:45 p.m. Wednesday, according to the report. He reported a revolver and $200 in change stolen before later realizing that three more firearms had been stolen from his truck.
Two rifles, a shotgun and a scope were missing from the victim’s truck and he believed they were taken between about 6 p.m. and 9 p.m. on Tuesday, according to the report. He did not realize they were missing until he went to move them into the house after reporting the burglary, he told deputies.
The coins were stored in a large water bottle in the living room and the revolver was stored inside a pistol case underneath the man’s bed, according to the report.
