Selections have been announced for a Beaufort film celebration that could bring a well-known Hollywood name to town next year.
The 12th annual Beaufort International Film Festival will award the best feature, documentaries, short films, student films, screenplays, animation, comedy and audience choice. The festival will also name a best actor, best actress and best director.

Dale Dye, an actor and military technical consultant who worked with directors such as Steven Spielberg and Oliver Stone, will receive the inaugural Pat Conroy Lifetime Achievement Award from the Beaufort International Film Festival in February, the Beaufort Film Society announced Tuesday.
Dye is a ‘Hollywood legend” who worked with the likes of Steven Spielberg and Oliver Stone, Film Society president Ron Tucker said in a previous news release.
The festival will be held Feb. 21-25 in Beaufort.
