Burton man charged after threatening to ‘blow everyone away,’ Sheriff’s report says
A Burton man faces a felony domestic violence charge after a night at the bar ended with threats to shoot everyone in his home, a Beaufort County Sheriff’s Office report said.
Glen Frederick, 38, returned to his Parris Island Gateway home from a Beaufort bar late Thursday night and hit a woman on the arm before threatening to shoot everyone in the home, including himself, a family member told deputies. The family member told deputies he saw Frederick go into his bedroom where he keeps a shotgun and heard a gun being racked, the report said.
The woman and a young boy climbed to safety out of a bedroom window. Frederick later left the house without a gun.
The woman told deputies Frederick pushed her but had not hit her and that he threatened to “blow everyone away.” Another family member secured the gun after deputies arrived.
Frederick told deputies he had not hit anyone and didn’t touch a gun or threaten to shoot anyone, the report said. He was charged with first-degree domestic violence, a felony with a maximum sentence of 10 years.
He remained jailed at Beaufort County Detention Center on Friday afternoon on $20,000 bond, jail records show.
