Beaufort crash shut down SC 170 intersection

A three-vehicle Beaufort crash blocked several lanes in multiple directions at a S.C. 170 intersection Monday evening, according to a Beaufort County Sheriff’s Office advisory.

One person sustained minor injuries in the crash, according to a Burton Fire District news release Tuesday afternoon.

The crash at Robert Smalls Parkway and Parris Island Gateway temporarily shut down all north and southbound lanes of Parris Island Gateway and all westbound lanes of Robert Smalls Parkway, according to the Sheriff’s Office around 6:30 p.m. All lanes were cleared at 7 p.m.

Beaufort County traffic cameras showed an ambulance and two firetrucks on scene around 6:30 p.m. Shortly before 7 p.m., two vehicles had been loaded onto tow trucks and emergency vehicles were beginning to leave the scene, the camera showed.
