Vandals did about $5,700 in damages to a nearly completed Lady’s Island home, splattering the interior with paint earlier this month, according to a Beaufort County Sheriff’s Office report.

The home on Oyster Bluff Drive — in the Oyster Bluff community — was nearly complete when the work crew left around 6 p.m. on Nov. 6 after touching up some painting inside, according to the report. A cleaning crew came in the following morning to find paint splattered on the windows, poured into the carpets and hardwood flooring and covering the oak staircase.

There were no signs of forced and no known suspects, according to the report. The windows were deemed salvageable but the flooring and staircase must be replaced, the report said.
