Want to be ready to respond to an emergency in Beaufort County? Here’s how
Those interested in learning how to be self-sufficient in a disaster are invited to participate in free Community Emergency Response Team training throughout October in Bluffton.
The CERT classes will be held at the Technical College of the Lowcountry in Room 125, according to a Beaufort County Sheriff’s Office news release.
The course is taught in four classes from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m. with one additional Saturday exercise from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m.
The classes are listed below:
▪ Oct. 2 - Personal preparedness and hazard mitigation
▪ Oct. 4 - Disaster Medical I
▪ Oct. 9 - Disaster psychology/terrorism response
▪ Oct. 11 - Disaster Medical II/CERT organization
▪ Oct. 14 - Fire suppression/disaster search techniques and exercise
