If you’re planning to stay out late Friday, keep an eye for this Beaufort checkpoint
The Beaufort Police Department will have a safety checkpoint downtown early Saturday morning, according to a department news release.
Officers will be set up at Carteret and North streets from midnight to 1 a.m. to check for seatbelts, driver’s licenses and vehicle , according to the release.
Drivers should be cautious and alert in the area and be prepared to stop for traffic or officers.
