While a Beaufort officer was in a store, someone vandalized his patrol car
Someone slashed the tire of a Beaufort Police Department patrol vehicle late Friday night while the officer was inside a store, according to police.
The on-duty officer was inside the Circle K at Robert Smalls Parkway and Parris Island Gateway around 11:45 p.m., according to a police report.
The patrol vehicle was parked in the parking lot when the tire was cut, police spokeswoman Sgt. Hope Able said. The damage was estimated at $300.
The incident was not seen on any surveillance footage and there is no description available of a suspect, Able said.
