Port Royal police investigate early morning robbery at Shell Point convenience store
An armed robber made off with cash at a northern Beaufort County convenience store Friday morning, two hours before another robbery at a gas station across town.
The robbery was reported at about 5 a.m. at Parker’s in Shell Point, Port Royal Police Investigator John Hogue said. The suspect is a tall, skinny black man wearing a dark colored shirt and white hat, Hogue said.
He is believed to have been armed with a gun, took cash in the register and left in a vehicle parked off site, the detective said. No description of the vehicle was available.
Police expect to receive surveillance video from the store soon and plan to circulate a photo of the man. Hogue said there is no evidence the Parker’s robbery is related to another armed robbery reported at a Shell station in Burton at 7 a.m.
