A group of teens allegedly threw a man to the ground and robbed him Tuesday night in Beaufort.

The victim told police four males who appeared to be between 16 and 17 years old approached him as he was walking on Duke Street toward Bladen Street around 11 p.m., according to Beaufort Police Department spokeswoman Sgt. Hope Able. The man was not injured, but his black bag worth approximately $75 was stolen.

One of the teens allegedly asked the victim for money before he pushed him to the ground, Able said. The victim did not know the suspects, and there were no threats communicated. They left the area on foot, but a direction was not specified in the police report. The victim flagged down an officer patrolling the area about 30 minutes later.

No description of the suspects was available beyond the estimated ages.
