Serious injuries reported in early morning Burton rollover crash

A male driver suffered serious injuries early Wednesday morning after his vehicle rolled over in Burton.

The crash was reported around 5 a.m. at the intersection of Robert Smalls Parkway and the Savannah Highway near the Broad River Boat Landing, according to a Burton Fire District news release.

When fire crews arrived, they found the vehicle lying on its roof. The driver was able to crawl out on his own but suffered potentially serious injuries in the crash, the release said.

There were no traffic delays, and it is unknown whether the driver was wearing a seat belt at the time of the crash.

The crash was the third reported in Burton within 24 hours.
