A pile of lumber was stolen from a semi-truck trailer parked in Seabrook overnight Thursday.

A driver heading to Bluffton parked in an empty lot at Trask Parkway and Garrett Smalls Road at 4:30 p.m. Thursday and prepared to get back on the road around 3:30 a.m. Friday, according to a Beaufort County Sheriff’s Office report.

Of the 80 pieces of treated 2-by-6-by-12 inch lumber, 34 had been stolen and five of the truck’s ratchet straps had been cut, according to the report. No footprints were seen in the area due to the standing water on the ground nearby.

The stolen lumber and damaged property was valued at just over $550 in total, according to the report.
